​PLANE EXPLODES AT UK AIRPORT: THE LATEST

​A plane tragically exploded at Southstead Airport in Essex in the UK on the 13th of July at 4pm.
​
All four people onboard the aircraft have died and they are believed to include two Dutch pilots and a nurse from Chile, as well as one other unidentified medical professional.
​
​Authorities are working on identifying who these people are so they can contact their families.
​
The plane was on a return flight to the Netherlands and exploded moment after taking off 175 feet in the air.
​
Witnesses reported seeing a fire ball 100 feet in the air and feeling sudden extreme heat.
​
Emergency services are on site and a serious incident was declared and the area is under a civil aviation exclusion zone meaning no flights can be launched from there due to safety, security and investigative reasons​.
​
The airport will be closed until further notice however a timeline of when it will be reopened could be released later this week. All flights have either been cancelled or diverted, including 20 EasyJet and 2 Eastern Airways flights.

We are still waiting to find out the cause of the crash with a full inquiry launched, as well as more recovery of the wreckage.
The airport and police will release further details as they find them out.
There is a report underway by the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) which will be released within 2-3 weeks and will contain information on possible causes.

WHAT IS HAPPENING IN ISRAEL AT THE MOMENT?
There is currently ongoing fighting in Israel at the moment. The fighting is between Israel and Hamas, which is a terrorist group in Gaza.
WHAT IS ISRAEL AND GAZA?
Israel is a small country in the Middle East and Gaza is an unclassified strip of land to the side of Israel.
WHO IS HAMAS?
Hamas is a terrorist group who have started fighting against Israel. Israel have retaliated, which means they have decided to fight back.
IS ANYONE SUPPORTING HAMAS?
Yemen, which is a country in the Middle East, support Hamas and have been helping them by trying to fight Israel by attacking boats.
WHY ARE THEY FIGHTING?
On the 7th of October 2023, Hamas sparked conflict in the region due to sudden attacks. However, this is not a new thing in the region and there has been a history of fighting between Israel and Gaza, with Israel illegally inhabitating Gaza for over 50 years.
ARE CIVILIANS BEING AFFECTED?
Yes. Civilians are being significantly affected by the war in the region. Lots have tried to escape, however some do not want to leave their country and so are staying in the region. Most civilians are living in tents as they have lost their housing. There is limited food and drink available and there is not many facilities, like toilets available. There is lots of illness and disease affecting civilians and this is a big problem. This is because hospitals have been at risk of being bombed and are not necessarily safe places. Some civilians have been taken away by Hamas, and are hostages which means they are unable to escape from the terrorist group. Some hostages have been released but lots haven't.
WHAT DOES ILLEGALLY INHABITING MEAN?
Israel have illegally been living in Gaza for over half a century, and there has been previous fighting in the past, so there has quite a long history of tension between them.
WHAT IS BEING DONE TO HELP?
Lots of World Leaders, have been visiting Israel to see if they can help and have been making negotiations with the Israel Government.
Aid is also being sent there. Aid is things like food being sent there because it is hard to get food there at the moment due to the fighting.

WHAT IS THE WORLD FIRST?
For the first time, lab-grown dog meat has been made. This is a big move in the pet food industry.
HOW IS LAB GROWN DOG MEAT MADE?
Lab Grown Dog Meat is made in the following steps:
1) Cells are collected from the animal's egg
2) The cells are cultivated* in a lab
3) The cells are combined with plant-based ingredients
*Cultivated means refined
HAVE THE GOVERNMENT APPROVED THIS?
Yes. Last year, the UK became the first European country to legalize lab-grown meat, starting with pet food.
WHAT IS THE POINT OF MAKING LAB GROWN MEAT?
The benefits of lab-grown meat are firstly, it is as healthy as normal meat. Secondly, there is no harm of animals in the process. And also it is good for the environment, as in thelong run, it decreases methane emissions, which are bad for the environment.
